Honestly, the CBSE syllabus is the same everywhere. Same textbooks in our school, same textbooks at the school down the road. So what actually changes? The teaching. At K.R. Mangalam World School, Indirapuram, Ghaziabad, we follow CBSE, but we do not stop there. Students get into labs, build things in the STEAM Studio, grow plants in the Edible Garden, code in the Robotics Lab. The textbook gets covered, but a good chunk of learning happens outside of it.
We follow the NEP 2020 stages: Foundational (Pre-Nursery to Grade II) is entirely play-based. Preparatory (III to V) brings in hands-on subject work. Middle (VI to VIII) adds depth and electives. Secondary (IX to XII) is board prep plus career planning. Each stage has its own detailed page on this site.
Our teachers plan around six things: Experiential Learning, Multiple Intelligences, Project-Based Learning, STEAM, PSPE (the physical-social-emotional side), and Value-Based Education. Not as a checklist they tick off daily, but as a framework they keep coming back to across the term.
Then there are six signature programmes running alongside academics. Beyond Boundaries gets students out of the classroom. Expressions Enhanced works on communication and stage confidence. Future Readiness teaches the practical stuff nobody puts in a textbook. Healthfulness is physical and mental wellness through the year, not just one health day. Neoteric Learning is where coding, robotics, and AI come in. And Personality Development does what the name says.
Hindi and English are the main languages of instruction. Starting Grade V, students at our Indirapuram, Ghaziabad campus pick one of three foreign languages: French, Spanish, or German. And from Grade VIII, structured career counselling kicks in. Most schools wait until Grade XI for that, which is a bit late considering stream choices happen in Grade IX.
