Most schools call parents when something goes wrong. That is about it. Maybe a PTM twice a year where you get five minutes with the teacher and a printout of marks. We wanted something better than that at K.R. Mangalam World School, Indirapuram, Ghaziabad.
Families here hear from us regularly. Not just when there is a problem. Updates go out through newsletters, circulars, and the EduNext parent app where you can track attendance, check assignments, and message teachers directly. We also share narrative feedback on your child, actual observations about how they are doing, not just numbers on a marks sheet.
PTMs happen regularly through the year, but they are not the only window. If something comes up mid-term, you do not have to sit on it until the next scheduled meeting. Teachers here are reachable. The principal, Ms. Snehlata Krishnan, keeps things approachable too. Sometimes a parent needs a quick five-minute conversation, and that should not require a formal appointment.
Some of the most useful exchanges we have with parents go beyond marks and homework. Screen time, social media, exam pressure at home, how to talk to a child about failure without making it worse. These come up in parent workshops, PTA meetings, and sometimes just honest chats during PTMs. Our PTA meets regularly and discusses real things like transport issues, canteen quality, and event planning. It is not a formality.
We are a relatively new campus in Indirapuram, Ghaziabad. That means parents who joined early are genuinely shaping how things work here. Their feedback is not just collected; it is acted on. We ask for it after events, at term-end, and through the PTA. That input has already changed how we do several things. This is the advantage of building something fresh.
A school works best when parents and teachers talk to each other, not past each other.
