Early Years Learners

During campus visits, parents in Indirapuram, Ghaziabad ask about academics, fees, facilities. However, the question that keeps coming back, especially from mothers, is some version of: “Will my child be okay here?” Not academically. Emotionally.

That is what pastoral care covers at K.R. Mangalam World School, Indirapuram, Ghaziabad. Classes are capped at 25 students; the teacher-student ratio is 1:15. Those numbers exist because a teacher handling 25 kids can actually notice when one of them is having a rough week. A teacher managing 45 cannot, no matter how good they are.

A Wing Built for Small Children

Walk into most schools in Indirapuram, Ghaziabad, and the nursery classrooms are somewhere inside a building designed for teenagers. Tall stairs, big corridors, senior students everywhere. That setup is not great for a three-year-old on their first day.

At K.R. Mangalam World School, Indirapuram, Ghaziabad, the Early Years wing is separate. Everything in it- the furniture height, the shelf reach, the washroom size- is scaled for children between roughly 2.5 and 6 years old. It has its own classrooms, its own outdoor play area, and supervised access to the school’s Art, Dance, and Music Studios.

Play-Based, but Not Random

When a child sorts coloured beads, that is early maths. When they do puppet shows, that is language development. When they dig in the garden, that is science. Every activity has a learning outcome behind it, but children experience it as play, not as a lesson. That said, structured inputs like phonics, letter recognition, and pre-writing happen too. We do not hand a four-year-old a textbook and expect them to sit still for forty minutes.

Class sizes are kept small. The teacher-student ratio is tighter than the rest of the school, because at this age the difference between a teacher handling 15 kids and one handling 30 is not about workload. It is about whether anyone notices that one child has been unusually quiet since Monday.

Subject Teachers, Safety, and Daycare

Even at the Early Years level, our campus has subject-specific teachers for Music, PE, Dance, Art, and Library. The class teacher runs the day, but specialists handle their areas. Early exposure to someone who is genuinely good at music or movement shapes what a child finds interesting.

Safety here starts with the basics: rounded furniture, secured shelves, doors designed so small fingers do not get caught, trained staff on the floor at all times. The settling-in period at the start of the year is handled gently; parents are welcome to stay as long as the child needs them to.

For working parents in Indirapuram, Ghaziabad, we also offer after-school daycare, a comfortable supervised space where children can unwind until pickup.

Admission for Early Years

Age criteria as of 31 July: Nursery at 3 years, LKG at 4, UKG at 5, Grade 1 at 6. There is an interaction with the school head, not a written test. We are looking at readiness, not the ability to fill a form. The best way to decide is to walk through the wing yourself.

Your child’s first school matters more than any school after it.
